France - Argentina (10-34): Au revoir

What a pity for the masses of French fans congregated in around the historic Parc de Princes.

Having undoubtedly delivered the best World Cup ever from the point of view of the stadia and support, the team once again fluffed their lines in the face of their nemesis, Argentina. More

So, the quarter-final line-ups are now complete. Argentina finish top of Pool D after yet another beautifully controlled piece of rugby, France face the mighty All Blacks at the Millenium Stadium in Cardiff, while Ireland join Wales on the early flight home. More

Pool A/ England - Tonga (36-20) : England ramble on

It looks like England are starting to find their feet in this tournament, after what was, in the end, a fine win over a spirited Tongan side.

This was the ultimate pressure situation for the defending champions, facing a win or bust match against a team that were fresh from almost beating the same squad that demolished England earlier in the group phase. More
