The Springboks and the Pumas are playing ‘hot potato’: the favourite tag is not so popular since the elimination of
Australia and the All Blacks last weekend.
Springboks coach Jack White refuses to assume this role and would prefer Argentina to carry the can instead.
Their journey to the semi-finals has been anything but predictable. They avoided France and Wales but managed a scare against Fiji and Tonga, just a couple of weeks after pummelling England.
Low profile is à la mode in France. But the Pumas have never beat the Boks in all their eleven encounters. They also showed signs of fatigue against
Scotland.
But what about their power up-front? Not to mention the fact the game will take place at the Stade de France; their lucky charm since they stunned Argentina in the World Cup opener – who in turn beat the All Blacks. Not so illogical after all.
