I was watching the final game of the group stages tonight, and I think a new star may have been born.
Takudzwa Ngwenya, remember that name.
The Americans were easily out-gunned in this match by the Springboks, but there was one moment of magic that will long be remembered by those in the audience.
Playing opposite Bryan Habana, one of the true rising stars of the world game, Ngwenya received the ball on the right and proceeded to skin the South African flyer, beating him for pace to race away to the line.
Honestly, I'm stunned. Having been introduced to the lightning fast Habana earlier in the tournament, I really didn't think that I would see him beaten for pace, except perhaps by a car, during the competition.
For Ngwenya, the only way is up, with perhaps a host of European clubs beating a path to his door in the wake of the tournament, eager to employ his pace for their teams.
