You couldn't have wished for a greater disparity in styles than was served up by Sunday's clash between Fiji and Canada.
The Fijians, blessed with skills and flair that even the All Blacks would be proud of, against a Canuck side whose style can only be described as physical.
In the end, beauty tamed the beast, with the Pacific islanders looking incredibly dangerous every time they got the ball in hand with a little space.
As mentioned before on this blog, the Canadians play a very structured 10-man game, with the backs being mainly utilised for their tackling while the forwards make the hard yards in the engine-room.
That Canada came so close to causing an upset says much about their industry, but until they learn to capitalise on a world class pack, they will continue to hover on the fringes, waiting for their maiden win against the established nations.
