What a second-half performance from a Welsh teamroared on by a Millenium Stadium crowd dripping with emotion.
Having commited rugby suicide with some simple errors that left them 22 points down at the break, they finally showed their true colours in the second forty minutes, even managing to to find parity in the front-five against a pack supposedly far superior.
That same period of play should also act as a real wake-up call for the Wallabies. They've been enthusiastic about their chances at this tournament, reckoning that their pack could be as good as anyone's by the knock-out stages. However, on this evidence, unable to put away the Welsh, they would be simply brushed aside by the pace and power of either South Africa or the All Blacks.
On the bright side, the Aussies now know they will draw England in the quarter-finals, if they beat Samoa and Tonga. Meanwhile, the Welsh will have to face the Springboks, who have have just destroyed England. Not a happy thought.
